What do the letters and numbers mean on Pulsar units?
Pulsar terminology and categorization can be a bit confusing if you are new to the brand. The information below will help you understand what the different letters and numbers mean in relation to each pulsar unit.
Each pulsar unit has both a letter and number designation. The letters refer to which sensor the unit has, and the letters refer to the size of the objective lens.
The different sensors that Pulsar currently offers are;
XM: 320x240 resolution - 12um
XQ: 384x288 resolution - 17um
XP: 640x480 resolution - 17um
XG: 640x480 resolution - 12um
Objective lens sizing varies between different families within the Pulsar line. The bigger the objective or front lens on any unit, the better image the thermal device can create.
